Operation Manual

  • E-Bike Operation Manual & Safety Guide

  • SCOOTER BROTHERS ENTERPRISES, LLC

  • Congratulations on your new e-bike! To ensure your safety and the longevity of your vehicle, please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride.

  • 1. Unboxing & Assembly

  • Most Scooter Brothers e-bikes arrive 85% assembled.

  • Inspection: Check the box for any shipping damage before opening.

  • Front Wheel: Ensure the quick-release lever or axle bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's torque specs.

  • Handlebars: Align the handlebars with the front wheel and tighten the four stem bolts in a "cross" pattern.

  • Pedals: IMPORTANT. The Right pedal (marked R) is tightened clockwise. The Left pedal (marked L) is "reverse-threaded" and must be tightened counter-clockwise.

  • Safety Check: We strongly recommend having a local bike shop perform a "Safety Tune" before your first ride to verify brake and gear alignment.

  • 2. Battery Management (The Most Important Part)

  • Your e-bike uses a high-capacity Lithium-Ion battery.

  • First Charge: Charge your battery for a full 6–8 hours before your first ride, even if the light turns green sooner.

  • Charging Safety: * NEVER leave a charging battery unattended.

  • Always use the original charger provided by Scooter Brothers.

  • Charge on a hard, flat surface (avoid carpets) in a well-ventilated area.

  • Storage: If you won't use the bike for more than 2 weeks, store the battery at 50%–70% charge. Never store it completely empty or completely full for long periods.

  • Temperature: Do not charge the battery in temperatures below 32°F (0°C) or above 104°F (400°C).

  • 3. Display & Controls

  • Power On/On: Press and hold the Power button on the handlebar controller for 2–3 seconds.

  • Pedal Assist (PAS): Use the [+] and [-] buttons to toggle between levels 0 (no assist) and 5 (maximum assist).

  • Throttle: If equipped, the thumb or twist throttle provides power without pedaling. Use the throttle sparingly on steep hills to prevent motor overheating.

  • Walk Mode: Pressing and holding the [-] button usually activates "Walk Mode" (approx. 3 mph), helpful when pushing the bike up a ramp.

  • 4. Basic Maintenance

  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure weekly. Refer to the PSI range printed on the side of your tire. Correct pressure prevents "pinch flats" and extends battery range.

  • Brake Check: Before every ride, squeeze both brake levers to ensure the bike holds firmly.

  • Chain Care: Keep the chain clean and lubricated with bike-specific dry or wet lube to prevent rust and ensure smooth shifting.

  • Hardware: Every 50 miles, check that the bolts on the crank-arms, fenders, and rear rack are tight, as vibrations from riding can loosen them over time.

  • 5. Safe Riding Practices

  • Helmet: Always wear a CPSC-certified helmet.

  • Braking Distance: E-bikes are heavier and faster than standard bikes. They require a longer distance to stop. Always brake with both levers simultaneously.

  • Visibility: Turn on your integrated lights when riding at dusk or in rain.

  • Class Regulations: Know your bike's class (Class 1, 2, or 3) and follow local trail and road laws in your specific city or state.

  • 6. Troubleshooting

  • Error Codes: If an error code (e.g., E07, E08) appears on your screen, refer to our online Technical Support portal or call us.

  • Bike Won't Power On: Ensure the battery is fully seated in the frame and the key is in the "On" position (for specific models).

  • Motor Cut-off: If the motor stops while pedaling, check if a brake lever is slightly stuck; most e-bikes have an automatic motor cut-off when brakes are applied.

  • Integration Idea for Wix:

  • Create an "Owner's Portal" or "Support" page on your site and paste this manual there. You can also generate a QR code that leads to this page and print it on a small card to include inside every e-bike box you ship. This makes your brand look incredibly professional and high-end.
